Overview
There are times when a user desires to manually control where a page break occurs. While page breaks occur dynamically on large reports, inserting a page break macro allows a user to split a report onto multiple pages in a controlled fashion, as opposed to having Qvinci automatically insert page breaks. Page breaks can be inserted after specific rows or columns.
Restrictions
Restriction 1. The page break macro is only available in Report Templates and cannot be utilized in Documents.
Restriction 2. As with all macros, the page break macro is case-sensitive.
Insert Page Break After a Row
Step 1. From a report template Edit view.
Step 2. In the row where you'd like to insert a page break, type the macro %%break%% in Column A. Then you can hide the row with the page break macro.
In the below example, the user desires to break the Balance Sheet report after the Total Assets line. This means that all the Liabilities & Equity sections will not populate until the page after the Total Assets line.
Insert a Page Break After a Column
The steps to insert a page break after a column are similar. In the row where you have your report's column headers, type the %%colbreak%% macro and then hide the column.
