Overview
After linking and syncing the QuickBooks Desktop file, a Qvinci user may experience the following error: "The Sync Client has encountered a critical error. Your data was not synced successfully. Click Review to see the error."
Resolving this Error Message
This error indicates that the connection between the Qvinci Sync App and the QuickBooks file was disrupted. This can be caused when another 3rd party application is actively syncing data to/from the same QuickBooks file, or because the file is extremely large in size and is timing out.
Here are 3 fixes for this issue:
Resolution 1 — Place the File in Single-User Mode When Syncing
Step 1. Have all users log out of QuickBooks except the user who is trying to sync.
Step 2. Log in (if you are not already logged in).
Step 3. Go to File > Switch to Single-User.
Step 4. Try the sync application again and try and sync.
Resolution 2 — Turn Off Any Other 3rd-Party Applications
Step 1. In the QuickBooks file, go to Edit > Preferences > Integrated Applications > Company Preferences tab.
Step 2. Uncheck the other 3rd-party applications that appear in the list. Do not remove the applications, but rather just temporarily disable them by unchecking.
Step 3. Save the selection.
Step 4. Try the sync application again to sync the file.
Resolution 3 — Consider Archiving or Condensing Historical Data in the QuickBooks File
It is highly suggested that the user consult with their accounting professional and make a backup copy of the file before archiving or condensing historical data.
Step 1. Go to File > Utilities > Condense Data feature.
Step 2. After the file has been successfully condensed, try the sync client again.
