Overview
At times when Qvinci is unable to connect to your QuickBooks file, an error of "Can't Open QuickBooks" appears, meaning that Qvinci and QuickBooks are running with different user account control permissions.
If each application is not running on the same user permission level (i.e.: both as Administrator, etc.), then an error message may appear when trying to link or sync the QuickBooks file to Qvinci.
The Fix
The fix arrives in a two-part process:
Part 1. The user needs to migrate to their Windows Start menu.
Find the Startup folder in the All Programs list. Inside the Startup folder delete the Qvinci Sync App. This is because the Qvinci Sync App loads as a startup program upon turning on the computer and is automatically loading under the default Windows User Account when the computer is turned on. Deleting it from the Startup folder ensures that the user must manually load Qvinci each time they wish to use it.
Part 2. When a user wishes to sync QuickBooks to Qvinci they should always right-click each program and Run as Administrator. This ensures that both programs are opening using the same Windows User Account (the Administrator) so that a "Can't Open QuickBooks" message does not appear.
