Overview
At times, the following error can appear when syncing a company file to Qvinci:
"Error 80040154: Unknown QuickBooks error: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID"
Install the Qvinci Sync App on the same desktop as the accounting file to avoid getting this error.
What Does This Error Mean?
This error is stating that the Qvinci Sync App is not installed on the same computer as the financial application (QuickBooks or AccountRight). In order for Qvinci to connect to the company file, the Qvinci Sync App must be installed on the same computer where the financial application is installed. The company file location is irrelevant.
Example 1: QuickBooks is installed on a server that is hosted by an external company.
Contact your hosting company to install the Qvinci Sync App on your server (most external servers only allow the Server Administrator access to install applications).
Example 2: QuickBooks is installed on a desktop, but the company file resides on your company's server.
Install the Qvinci Sync App on the desktop with the QuickBooks application. Again, the location of the company file is irrelevant.
