Overview
After a QuickBooks Desktop/Hosted file has been linked in the Qvinci Sync Client, any user may prompt a manual sync. There are two ways that a sync may occur after files are linked.
Intuit has announced that only QuickBooks Desktop 2022 (Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Pro and Enterprise) R3 or later is certified as fully compatible with Windows 11 64-bit.
Please do not upgrade to other editions of Windows 11 until Intuit has certified that your QuickBooks release is compatible with Windows 11. Please see published information on Intuit's website for additional guidance.
Manually Sync a Desktop/Hosted File
QuickBooks Desktop/Hosted files that have already been linked to Qvinci may be manually synced at any time. Any user who can open the previously linked QuickBooks Desktop/Hosted file, who also has the Qvinci Sync Client installed on their computer or server account, may perform a manual sync. It is not necessary that these users open QuickBooks files as the admin in order for a sync to run. The QuickBooks Admin login is only necessary for linking. If a new QuickBooks Desktop/Hosted file is needing to be linked follow the steps in how to Link a QuickBooks Desktop/Hosted File
Step 1. Using any QuickBooks login credentials, log into the QuickBooks file needing to be sync'd.
Step 2. The Qvinci Sync Client should load as a startup program. Then go to the System Tray (lower right corner of the screen by the clock) and double click the Qvinci Sync Client to load it. If the Qvinci Sync Client does not appear in the System Tray, then double click the desktop icon. Afterwards, locate the Qvinci Sync Client in the System Tray and double-click to open it.
Step 3. In the Qvinci Sync Client, migrate to the In-File Sync tab and click the gray Sync button.
Step 4. When the progress bar completes the syncing is done. You may close out of the Qvinci Sync Client, and it will return to the System Tray, or you may open another QuickBooks file and repeat the above steps.
Automated Syncing
By default, the Qvinci Sync Client loads to the System Tray (lower right corner of the desktop, by the clock) when it is not in use. It also loads to the System Tray when a user restarts the computer or logs onto their server profile.
The benefit to having the Qvinci Sync Client load on startup is to allow for automated syncing. If the Qvinci Sync Client is loaded in the System Tray then the act of opening a QuickBooks Desktop/Hosted file will prompt for a sync to run after the file has been open approximately 15 minutes, when there has been activity. After the auto-sync has successfully run on a specific calendar day it will not attempt to sync the file again until the next calendar day the file is opened. The user may resort to performing manual syncs in order to sync multiple times a day.
Deactivate Qvinci Sync Client from Loading on Startup
A system administrator may deactivate the load-on-startup preference by simply removing the Qvinci Sync Client from the Startup folder of the Start menu for the Windows user in question.
