This article explains what happens when you delete a recurring invoice in Qvinci RoyaltyHub, why deleting should be used carefully, and what to do if a recurring invoice was deleted by mistake.
Before You Delete a Recurring Invoice
Deleting a recurring invoice is permanent. Once a recurring invoice is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
Instead of deleting the recurring invoice, we recommend making the recurring template inactive or setting an end date. This allows the invoice template to move to the completed section so it can still be referenced later if needed.
Recommended Options
- Make the recurring invoice inactive: Use this option when you no longer want the invoice to generate, but still want to keep the template available for future review.
- Set an end date: Use this option when the recurring invoice should stop after a specific billing period.
- Delete the recurring invoice: Use this only when you are certain the recurring template is no longer needed and does not need to be referenced later.
What Happens After a Recurring Invoice Is Deleted
If a recurring invoice is deleted, the recurring template itself is removed and cannot be restored. However, you may still be able to review invoice details from previously created invoices for that customer or contact.
To view previous invoice details, open the customer or contact record and review the recent invoices section. Older invoices created from the recurring invoice may still show the invoice details.
If a Recurring Invoice Was Deleted by Mistake
- Open the customer or contact record associated with the deleted recurring invoice.
- Go to the recent invoices section.
- Open an older invoice that was created from the deleted recurring invoice.
- Review the invoice details to confirm they are correct.
- Make the invoice recurring again moving forward.
- Save the recurring invoice so it appears again for the customer or contact.
