General Ledger Access
General Ledger (GL) access is a module available in Qvinci for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop files. Access must be enabled at the account level for all subscriptions in the account. To have GL access enabled, contact Qvinci using the link below or contact your Solution Consultant.
To understand who can view the GL in Qvinci, please refer to the User Permissions Grid.

Creating and Managing Journal Entries in Qvinci
Creating and pushing of Journal Entries through Qvinci is a module now available for QuickBooks Desktop files (available Q1 2018 for QuickBooks Online).
Same as the GL access, the JE access must be enabled at the account level for all subscriptions in the account. To have the JE access enabled, please contact Qvinci or your Solution Consultant.
Please read this article for details on how to:
- Access Journal Entry capabilities from the Qvinci Portal
- Create, Approve, Edit, or Delete Journal Entries in Qvinci
A helpful article on Journal Entries can be found here.
Account Number Column Option
An option is available to show the QuickBooks account number for both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online in the GL grid, thus allowing for better cross-referencing and communication. Users can also turn this feature on or off depending on their preference.
Contributor Name and Email Header
When a JE is added to the GL, the contributor’s name and email address are populated. This increases the communication, workflow, and provides direct access to question or confirm the proposed entry. This will ultimately reduce time spent looking for information and increase efficiencies.
GL Guidance Text
Users with enabled GL access are informed with a text box that they need to click the numbers in the grid to view the GL. In addition, there might be a slight delay in populating the data and a text box will appear until all data is synced, thus communicating to the user that data is processing.
GL Auditors Access
GL Auditors with firms that use SCoA for standardization who may need click-through access even when Account Mapping is enabled can now do this. GL Auditors who need to audit the GL accounts that feed into the mapped report account will find this new capability useful.
Select Report Filters
Users of Report Preview from the Library Page can now select Report Filters prior to clicking Edit or Preview so they can navigate directly to the desired report when previewing. This enhancement saves time and allows for quicker access to the right report.
Default Cell Colors
Report Authors sometimes get browser colors or URL links when they forget to set a cell color. Now, Qvinci sets the default cell color to black-on-white, avoiding the issue.
Relative Fiscal Year Reports
Report authors using relative fiscal year reports can now have Qvinci automatically handle reports in the 1st and 2nd months of the fiscal year. This prevents users from having to change their report options during the 1st and 2nd months of each fiscal year.
Automated Validation
GL and report validation are now available for P&L and Balance Sheet reports.
